World Blind Golf Championship pictures
PS Sorry everyone for last post, cannot get my screen to magnify, so i cant pick up my mistakes!
first round results and excuses. just kidding!
Lefty shot 95, which is currently a 4th place position. I must also stress that the winner of the World Blind Golf Championship is based on overall net score,, NOT Gross, as we do in North America. so as of the first round, based on net,, Glenn Babcock from Canada is in second position behind leader by 2. Lefty is behind leader by 4.
lLefty is also counting his blessing after tsling a triple on the 7th hold and a 9 on the followkng par 3. lefty brought it back in the back 9 with a 44, 2 birdies on this difficult course brought Lefty back into contention for the final round.
will keep all of you informed after final round.
again, thank you all very much for making this happen, every day on the gokf course when ths sun is shinning during an australian autumn, i thank my lucky stars for living in such an awesome ans supportive community.
Good day, mates!!!
Thanks everyone for all the words of encouragement for today, i will certainly use that to go out there and play the best that I can.
All the people here have been so awesome. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. the Nelson Bay members and organizers are doing such an amazi g job.
George and I have also been blessed with amazing sight coaches. my sight coach Ian has been an amazing asset, and totally bends over backwards to make our time here an absolute pleasure.
what an amazine experience and opportunity.
sorry, forgot to mention, with the day 1 results, Lefty is in the hunt today for the Australian Open title,
Nelson Bay is a very difficult and demanding golf course. my motto here is, if you stray, you pay!
i have strayed a bit, and it has cost me, however, we are all kn the same boat here,
my brother Darcy wanted me to keep the driver in the bag. However, the driver has been an asset off the tee. the second club that has been an asset has been the putter. Putts in first round were 26 or 27.
i expect the Canadian contigent to bounce back today, as the focus is the use today as more practice for the Workds.
good day, mates!
here are day one results:
brian Macleod 112 gross 81 Net
Donna Hawkins 126 Gross 95 Net
Darren Douma 94 Gross Net 74
Glenn Babcock Gross 103 Net 83
george Thirkill Gross 107 Net 86
today is final round, i will try and post final results later this evening, having issues with the WiFi down under,
y, being Sunday over here, we completed a practice round. needlass to say, the course is very LONG and very tough, staying on fairway is a MUST. for those that know me, i stray a little. today was one of those days· i wont get into details or excuses. i will leave it at that 20 strokes will be shaved off the score in tomoorows first round of the Austrailian Open.
all the Aussies are very friendly and accomodating here: the next 4 days should be a great time. especially if we get over the jet lag.
were having issues with WiFi down here so i will do my best to keep everyone informed,
again, check previous post on some links that will provide info on results on a daily basis. in addition, we have been told that Fox Sports here will be doung some coverage. chdck out your Fox Sports options and maybe you will get to see a little blind golf!
